River Road Park - Located in Madison, Ohio this park has 10 acres with grass-mowed trails and an excellent fishing pond stocked with bass, bluegill, and catfish. 

Hikers will enjoy an easy walk past a bluff that provides a spectacular view of the Grand River valley and a glimpse of the river below.

Family Walking in the Park Hidden Valley Park - Also located in Madison, Ohio this park is perfect for a picnic with friends and family.  The picnic area has grills, shelter, and a fire ring. 

Drinking water, restrooms, hiking trails, playground, fishing, a sledding hill, ball fields, and canoe access are all available, too. 

Hidden Valley Park is situated below a spectacular shale cliff.  A riverside trail offers views of the sweeping Grand River. Visit www.lakemetroparks.com for more information.

Arcola Creek Park - This park is located in the Madison Township and offers 153 acres to explore along the Lake Erie shoreline. Birders will appreciate the variety of migratory birds that visit Arcola Creek Park.

The park has a picnic area, an observation deck, public bathrooms, and a 630-foot beach with fishing.

Hiking in Hidden Valley Park Western Reserve Greenway Trail System -  The Western Reserve Greenway is a 43-mile rail-trail that cuts across a course from Ashtabula to Warren, Ohio. For now the trail starts at Herzog Rotary Park only a few miles from Lake Erie, and eventually this trail will end right at the shoreline. 

Along this trail you're sure to encounter wildlife such as beavers, deer, wild turkeys, and even bald eagles.  Signs along the trail detail the importance of northeast Ohio in the Underground Railroad.  Visit www.traillink.com for more information.

Ashtabula County Covered Bridge Tour - Part of an annual festival in the fall, the covered bridge tour is a driving tour of 18 covered bridges in Ashtabula County.

Ashtabula County Fair Ashtabula County Fair -  If your stay at Bella Teresina happens in August, you're in luck!  Our Ashtabula County Fair should be on your list of things to do in Jefferson, Ohio.

You'll find everything you'd hope for at a county fair, including tractor pulls, harness racing, midway rides, and 4H livestock events.  You also won't want to miss all of the delightful food vendors and the eating contest!
